Assessments shall provide information to students, teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies on student growth and goals and help guide course and curriculum development. The school shall encourage teachers and parents to schedule individual conferences as deemed necessary, in addition to the scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
At the Elementary and Primary levels assessment is based on levels of achievement related to attainment of Primary and Elementary curricular outcomes. In Grades 6-10 - learning outcomes are assessed based on curriculum standards. Grades 11-12 International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme assessment is based on the specific learning objectives and performance standards determined by the International Baccalaureate Organization and correspond to a scale of 7 (highest) -1 (lowest). Student attitudes and behavior are evaluated separately.
For students wishing to continue their education in Germany, the Hessen Ministry of Culture provides for the translation of IB results into German Abitur results.
Students with diagnosed learning differences and students at an early stage of English language acquisition may require exemptions from or modifications of standard assessment procedures. Such exceptions are determined in conjunction with the ELA and Learning Support Teachers.
