Employees shall not engage in any other employment or in any private business during the hours required to fulfill assigned duties or which would in any way conflict with or violate professional standards. Employees shall not sell products, equipment, or services to any student or parent unless prior approval has been received from the Head of School.
As faculty and staff are expected to be available to students during the school day, in no case shall faculty or staff accept additional payment for tutoring services carried out during the school day. In no event shall any faculty tutor their own students, unless special permission has been granted by the divisional principal. Any employee providing tutoring services within the school facilities shall obtain permission of the divisional principal prior to providing any such services. The Head of School shall maintain a list of employees providing tutoring services within the school facilities.
As an ongoing matter, the Director of Finance and Operations shall identify any contract or transaction where a potential conflict of interest may exist, including, inter alia, instances where supplies, equipment or services are purchased from a member of the immediate family of an employee, an organization where an employee holds a proprietary interest, or an organization where a member of the immediate family of an employee works or holds a proprietary interest. The Director of Finance and Operations shall report any such potential conflicts to the Head of School, who shall bring any matters of concern to the attention of the Board of Trustees.
