Although no government agency exercises direct control over the educational policy and curriculum of the school, the Board of Trustees and the Administration view a supportive and collaborative relationship between the school and German governmental authorities as critical to achieving the school’s mission. To this end, the Head of School and the Chair of the Board shall coordinate closely with the German state, applicable local governments and agencies, and, in particular, the Ministry of Culture of Hesse to address any issues of concern. The Head of School and the Chair of the Board shall include the Advisory Council in such efforts, as needed.
The Board of Trustees and the Administration shall remain committed to fostering a positive and collaborative relationship with the communities of Oberursel, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, and the Rhein-Main areas. Encouraging closer integration of the school with the local community is central to achieving the school’s purpose of promoting learning, culture, and international understanding. The Administration and faculty shall encourage the school’s employees and students to be active and positive contributors in the local community and shall sponsor joint activities and explore other opportunities to collaborate with and support the local community.
