The Head of School is responsible for the general management of school facilities. The Administration, together with the Buildings and Grounds Committee, shall continually assess the school facilities and seek improvements to ensure that the facilities both reflect the school’s commitment to sustainability and align with and promote the school’s mission. This includes the ongoing development and maintenance of an FIS Facilities Master Plan which is reflective of FIS guiding principles for campus and facilities design.
The Buildings and Grounds Committee shall, in cooperation with the Head of School and the Finance Committee, oversee and report on the operation, maintenance, and development of the facilities and grounds of the school. The committee shall provide leadership and guidance in all long-term capital improvements, expansions and replacement projects. The committee shall also routinely assess security and safety issues and oversee the school’s environmental, health and safety policy.
