FIS school fees in respect of each student comprise of:
Annual Tuition Fee
Capital Assessment Fee charged during the first two years of a student’s attendance
Registration Fee or Re-enrollment Fee
Transportation Fee (if applicable)
Additional fees may be charged based on the provision of specific services such as lunch fees, trip fees, testing and examination fees, fees for participation in the First Language Program and fees for additional learning support, etc.
The fees charged for tuition, capital assessments, and registration and re-enrollment for the following school year shall be reviewed and approved annually by the Board of Trustees prior to the General Membership Meeting.
Tuition and Capital Assessment Fees are due in full on 1 July. Registration Fees are due no later than four weeks following a student’s acceptance and are non-refundable. Re-enrollment Fees for returning students are due by 30 April and are non-refundable. A portion of the tuition is due by 30 April in the form of a down payment to secure admission and that portion is not refundable.
Tuition Fees are prorated for students enrolled for less than the full school year as stipulated in the FIS Tuition & Fees Schedule, which is subject to review by the Finance Committee and approval by the Board of Trustees. The Capital Assessment Fee is fully refundable if a student’s registration is withdrawn before the beginning of the school year, and 50% refundable if a student attends less than 65 days in a given school year.
An installment plan allows parents to pay Tuition and Capital Assessment Fees in biannual or monthly installments. An administrative fee, as determined by the Director of Finance and Operations and confirmed by the Head of School, is added to each biannual or monthly installment. Parents who are employed by FIS are not subject to this administrative charge.
The Director of Finance and Operations has the discretion to offer alternative payment plans for parents experiencing financial hardship. Such arrangements must be agreed to in advance and, in all cases, parents remain liable for the whole year's fees which, in any event, must be paid prior to the end of the school year.
The Transportation Fee is charged to students who use the FIS bussing service. The fee is charged annually in advance, and varies depending upon the distance of the student’s pick-up point from FIS.
Additional fees based on the provision of specific services include learning support services and the First Language Program. For students who require more than standard learning support services, parents will be notified of the fees at the time of admission or at an individual learning support meeting. Parents of students involved in the First Language Program will be notified of the fees upon enrollment in the program.
