To protect the health and safety of all members of the community, the school is committed to preventing the spread of contagious diseases. To ensure a proper assessment of potential threats from contagious diseases, the Head of School, in conjunction with the school nurse will closely monitor recommendations by the World Health Organization, the German Robert Koch Institute as well as other national, regional and local health authorities.
The school reserves the right to take precautionary measures and to deny access to the school premises to any persons (students, faculty, staff, parents and others) when there is a suspicion of possible infection with a contagious disease that could pose a danger to the community. Relevant medical records will be required from all new applicants regarding measles vaccination status and from any global area where an epidemic of a dangerous contagious disease has been confirmed. When German law requires proof of vaccination or immunity for admittance to FIS as either student or staff member, such records will also be required of any person in the existing community (students, faculty, staff, parents and others) if deemed appropriate. These records will be handled in the strictest confidence and in accordance with German data protection regulations.
