FIS may initiate additional fundraising activities or receive unsolicited donations. Any major school fundraising activity shall be initiated jointly by the Board of Trustees and the Head of School and implemented and coordinated by the Alumni Relations and Development Office under the direction and supervision of the Admissions and Advancement Office and the Head of School. FIS carries out and monitors its fundraising activities to ensure conformity with the school's mission, values and reputation. All solicitations of funds or in-kind gifts carried out by students, staff or student organizations in the name of FIS or any of its organizations, must be approved by the Alumni Relations and Development Office under the supervision of the Admissions and Advancement Office.
The Alumni Relations and Development Office similarly coordinates any unsolicited donations. Significant donations are subject to the approval and oversight of the Head of School, including any agreements with a donor restricting the use of a donation for a specified purpose. Significant donations include any donation valued at € 5,000 or above. The Head of School shall report any significant donation to the Board and discuss with the Board any restrictions on the use of the donation, and any concerns about the values, interests or reputation of the donor. A donation from a person or organization with known values or interests that conflict with the school’s stated mission and beliefs will not be accepted by FIS. Upon approval by the Board, FIS may name spaces, buildings or endowments in recognition of large donations meeting specified gift levels established by the Alumni Relations and Development Office.
