The Board of Trustees and the Administration recognizes professional development as critical to achieving the school’s mission and shall remain committed to encouraging and supporting the professional development of the school’s faculty and staff.
The Finance Committee shall determine budgetary provisions for the financial support of professional development. The divisional principals and Assistant Head of School shall oversee the disbursement of funds and shall make every effort to ensure that relevant professional development is provided to all faculty and staff members who wish to pursue such opportunities, bearing in mind both the interests of the school and those of the employee.
In addition to the budgetary provisions for professional development overseen by the divisional principals and Assistant Head of School, the Head of School authorizes disbursements from a fund for advanced training that is specified in the faculty and staff tariff agreements and included in the budgetary process.
Additional information about the school’s professional growth and evaluation program for faculty, including a description of the applicable internal guidelines, is provided in the Professional Growth and Evaluation Handbook.
