Lyrics: Julia Ward Howe Music: William Steffe Setting: Peter J. Wilhousky Arrangement: James Neilson Conductor: 1st Lt. Alexandra Borza Lyrics Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on. Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on. I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps; They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps, His day is marching on. In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me; As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free! While God is marching on. That is the core organizing principle of the U.S. Army and that is why we fight.” - Gen Mark Milley, Chief of Staff of the Army. Right now across America, the U.S. Army is commissioning the next generation of officers who will make an oath to support and defend the ideals of the US Constitution. Join us by celebrating their service to their service to our country or by sharing a memory from when you were commissioned. The U.S. Army

Situated in the heart of the Hudson Valley and a Revolutionary War fortress itself, USMA is in a unique position to leverage its resources, expertise, and historical vantage point to advance the public’s historical understanding of the region. To this end, West Point’s Digital History Center recently launched “Hudson Valley in the American Revolution,” a multi-year, collaborative project between West Point cadets and faculty that will represent the Revolutionary Era of the Hudson Valley through a series of digital, interactive story maps. The project explores Hudson Valley battlefields, historical sites, roads, and fortifications related to the Revolutionary War to provide a platform representing each as part of a whole, interconnected, and even dependent network. The Center used its grant award to fund an interactive digital map related to the Battle of New York in 1776. Americana Corner
