12/16 Study your book notes and practice thesis statements so that you’re ready for the final exam on Tuesday.

Week 16

Monday12/5 Finish reading Passing. Read carefully and annotate so that you’re ready for a reading quiz and class discussion tomorrow. Continue working on your visual rep from A Tale of Two Cities, due next week. Tuesday12/6 Complete a think write on “Convergence of the Twain.” Wednesday12/7 Based on the writing notes, my comments, the writing rubric, and your own ideas, write a final draft of your A Tale of Two Cities essay. Due Friday. Thursday12/8 After you’ve made all the major content changes to your Tale of Two Cities essay, read it aloud and make the final revisions. Evaluation your essay on the writing rubric and complete the writing reflection. Hand everything in during the first 5-10 minutes of class tomorrow. Friday12/9 Finish your IR book if you’re reading a third for second quarter. The due date is December 12.

Monday11/28 Complete a reflection on “Ars Poetica.” Tuesday11/29 Based on peer editing comments, the writing rubric, and your own ideas, write a second draft of your A Tale of Two Cities essay. Due tomorrow. Wednesday11/30 Complete a think write on “Shield of Achilles” Thursday12/1 Choose a poem from the Poetry Out Loud website that you’d like to memorize and present to the class. Friday12/2 Read in the class IR book, Passing, due by Dec. 6. If you need to read a third book, the due date is December 12.

Monday4/5 Finish the questions on the poem “Water” on Google Classroom. Read in The Book Thief. We will take the test on the Book Thief on the Tuesday after we return from spring break. Tuesday4/6 Complete a think write on one of the Emily Dickinson poems. Wednesday4/7 Complete a think write on “Sestina” on Google Classroom. Thursday4/8 Read in The Book Thief. Friday4/9 Enjoy spring break! Finish reading The Book Thief. Be ready to take the exam on Tuesday. Your second 4^th Quarter IR test is due by May 3.

Monday3/29 After you’ve made the main content revisions on your Tale of Two Cities essay, read your essay aloud. Listen for awkward sections, repeated words, and errors. Make the final corrections and finish your final draft. Due tomorrow. Tuesday3/30 Complete a think write on the poem, “Convergence of the Twain.” See the details on Google Classroom. Wednesday3/31 Complete a think write on the poem, “The Shield of Achilles.” See the details on Google Classroom. Thursday4/1 Finish the questions on "The Shield of Achilles" on Google Classroom. Friday4/2 Read in The Book Thief. Due April 8th. Your second 4^th Quarter IR test is due by May 7.
