12/5 Finish reading Hamlet. Read carefully and annotate so that you’re prepared for class discussion and/or a reading quiz. I will check your annotations in class tomorrow, so don’t forget. Make sure you have scheduled an IR exam—all IR tests must be taken by Wednesday, December 7th.

12/6 Complete the Act IV Questions and Quotations. See Google Classroom for the questions—I will hand out the quotations in class.

Wednesday

12/7 Complete the End of the Play Questions on Hamlet. See Google Classroom for the questions.

Thursday

12/8 Write two paragraphs (intro and body paragraph) on the 2007 or 2008 open question prompt in your packet. Watch some of the movie version of Hamlet. Make sure you finish watching by Monday so you're prepared for a timed writing on Hamlet before the final exam.

12/9 Complete book notes on The Great Gatsby, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and A Tale of Two Cities. See the link for details.

Monday

11/28 Watch Zefirelli’s version of Hamlet to where we left off on the reading. Take some notes on any differences you’ve noticed between the book and the movie. Bring your notes to class tomorrow.

11/29 Complete the Act II - III Questions. Check Google Classroom to see the questions and hand in your homework.

Wednesday

11/30 Complete the Act III Quotations.

Thursday

12/1 Watch Zefirelli’s version of Hamlet to where we left off on the reading (the end of Act III--when Hamlet ends his conversation with the Queen). Take some notes on any differences you’ve noticed between the book and the movie. Bring your notes to class tomorrow. If you were absent today, you should also read to the end of Act III.

Friday

12/2 Finish your IR book. The final second quarter book tests are due next week by December 7th. Complete the Act IV Questions. Check Google Classroom to see the questions and hand in your homework.

Week 14

Monday

11/14 Based on the writing notes, my comments, the grading criteria, and your own ideas, write a final draft of you’re A Tale of Two Cities essay. Due Wednesday.

Tuesday

11/15 Finish revising your final draft. Make sure you go through your essay several times after you make the major changes. Read through once for fluency, once for verbs, and once out loud. Due tomorrow.

Wednesday

11/16 Complete the Act I Quotations—they will be handed out in class.

Thursday

11/17 Write a final draft of your timed writing on Alain de Botton's "Kiss and Tell."

Friday

11/18 Read in your IR book—make your life easy and finish your book over vacation. The final second quarter book tests are due by December 7th. Happy Thanksgiving!
