In order to study for the final exam this week, read over all of the notes that you took in class, look through any related assignments, and jot down quick answers to questions 1-17 (see attached). Read over all of the quotations from Acts I-V Quotations, and make sure you understand and recognize them.
The third section of the exam will be an in-class essay. You will be able to prepare for this exam ahead of time, but you will have to write and revise the entire essay in class. Be sure to brainstorm, make an outline, find quotations, and write your thesis statement for the essay before the exam.
Prompt:
Write a thorough, well-supported essay arguing whether Romeo and Juliet experience true love for each other or whether their love is merely a superficial attraction. Use specific lines from the play to support your opinion.
Prewriting:
Once you have decided on your opinion, find evidence for your view and copy down good quotations. Then think of the ending of the play and how it can be interpreted based on whether Romeo and Juliet truly loved each other or just experienced a teenage crush. Were their deaths the only way to bring peace or did they die in vain? Make an outline for the play. See the attached sample below.
