What is a Biography?
A biography is a piece of writing explaining the life of a person. it includes factual details such as dates, places and events.
Activity 1: Read the 3 biographies and identify these factual elements: times, dates, names, places and events.
Complete the Cathy Freeman comprehension sheet.
Once you have read these biographies, choose a notable Australian that you would like to write your own biography on.
Please make sure you choose someone who has had a positive impact on Australia. Below is a list of people that you can choose from. You may also have someone else in mind.

Activity 2: Once you have chosen your notable Australian, begin researching online. use the fact file page to add all of the information that you fine. Remember that you need to put the information you find into your own words as best as possible.
Activity 3: Use the biography sub headings template to begin writing your biography draft. Remember to use factual information and language. This is a non-fiction text. if you get stuck, reread the biographies from Lesson One.
Activity 4: Once you have finished your draft, use the below checklist to edit your writing and make sure it is ready to be published.
