What is temperature?

Temperature is a way of measuring how hot and cold it is, and we often use a thermometer to do this.  

Temperature is measured by thermometer. There are different scales and units which are used for measuring temperature. Among them the most common are Celsius or centigrade (°C) which is used in Australia and Fahrenheit (°F) which is used in countries such as Australia.
