What is Grammar?
Grammar is the set of rules for how words, groups of words (phrases) and sentences can go together. This is also known as Parts of Speech.

Collective Nouns:

A collective noun names a group of people, animals, or things. The whole group is one unit even though you could count the individual members of the group. A collective noun takes a singular verb.

Prefixes and Suffixes
Learning Intention: To understand the purpose of and correctly use prefixes and suffixes to add to base words.
Definition:
A base or root word can stand alone and has meaning (for example, help). A suffix is a word part added to the end of a word (for example, -ful). If you add the suffix -ful to the base word, help, the word is helpful. A prefix is a word part added to the beginning of a word or base word (for example, un-). If the prefix un- is added to helpful, the word is unhelpful.

Compound Words
Learning Intention: I can explain what a compound word is with examples.
Compound words are formed when two or more words are joined together to create a new word that has an entirely new meaning. or example, “sun” and “flower” are two different words, but when fused together, they form another word, Sunflower. The spelling of the two words does not necessarily change when they are joined together, but the definition becomes unique.
