Y12 Life Prep, formerly known as Work Literacy, is a Year 12 programme designed to prepare students to be independent and successful young adults. All credits are unit standards. It is designed for students who would succeed in a more vocationally-based course.

This course consists of Level Two NCEA Unit Standards. The course covers between 16 and 20 credits. Topics covered include driving-related standards, personal finances, dispute resolution and tenancy law.
