MUP - Music Performance
Music is hands-on and practical. Music can be for personal interest or as a step towards NCEA Music.
Music can be suitable for all students with an interest in playing instruments or singing: Contemporary performance is the focus.
This course looks at Performance techniques and practice tips, building up to performing at our Matariki Concert .(Optional), Looking after and maintaining Music gear and working through a Grade One theory booklet .
Students practise on their instruments (or sing) each lesson to develop their skills.
All students must have Itinerant (free) Music lessons or a private tutor - this ensures support and success. This is compulsory.
Extra-curricular opportunities include Rockquest, Jazz band, forming or joining bands and on-stage performances such as the “Soiree” and smaller concerts.
