There are 4 subjects offered at Year 12: Painting, Printmaking, Design and Photography. Year 12 Visual Arts focuses on refining technical skills, developing personal style, and engaging critically with contemporary and historical art. This course is designed to challenge and inspire, preparing students for advanced studies and diverse career opportunities in the arts.
Introduction
Students will generate and develop ideas for original personal work from painting by extending their knowledge and understanding of artists and artwork.
Prerequisites
Gained minimum of 10 credits in Level 1 Art, or by negotiation with Miss Carr.
Course Outline
Students will complete one internal and one external assessment. Students choose subject matter and produce personal work based on selected artist models.
Internal: 91311 Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to painting (4 credits)
External: 91321 Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within painting (12 credits)
Cost
$100. Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two.

Cost
$100. Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two. Please note students will also need to purchase photography paper of their choice for printing their folio board. They will also need a computer that can handle running adobe creative software.
