Level Two Painting

Introduction

Students will generate and develop ideas for original personal work from painting by extending their knowledge and understanding of artists and artwork.

Prerequisites

Gained minimum of 10 credits in Level 1 Art, or by negotiation with Miss Carr.

Course Outline

Students will complete one internal and one external assessment.  Students choose subject matter and produce personal work based on selected artist models.

Internal: 91311 Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to painting (4 credits)

External: 91321 Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within painting (12 credits)

Cost

$100.  Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two. 

Where does it lead?

To Level 3 Painting. 

Painting is a useful skill set that is often required as part of your portfolio submissions for Architecture, product design, spatial design, design and communication, animation, visual arts and fine arts. Search for other Art careers online.

Level Two Photography

Introduction

Students will generate and develop ideas for original personal work from photography by extending their knowledge and understanding of artists and artwork.

Prerequisites

Gained minimum of 10 credits in Level 1 Art, or by negotiation with Miss Carr.

Students will complete one internal and one external assessment.  Students choose subject matter and produce personal work based on selected artist models.

Internal: 91312 Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to photography (4 credits)

External: 91322 Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within photography (12 Credits)

Cost

$100.  Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two. Please note students will also need to purchase photography paper of their choice for printing their folio board. They will also need a computer that can handle running adobe creative software.

To Level 3 Photography.

External: 91323 Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within printmaking (12 credits)

$110.  Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two.

Level Two Design

Introduction

Students will generate and develop ideas for original personal work from design by extending their knowledge and understanding of artists and artwork.

Gained minimum of 10 credits in Level 1 Art, or by negotiation with Miss Carr.

Students will complete one internal and one external assessment.  Students choose subject matter and produce personal work based on selected artist models. In Design you can explore animation/character design, product design or branding and advertising. 

Internal: 91310 Use drawing methods to apply knowledge of conventions appropriate to design (4 credits)

External: 91320 Produce a systematic body of work that shows understanding of art making conventions and ideas within design (12 credits)

Cost

$100.  Please note 50% of this cost must be paid by the end of Term One with 100% paid in full by the end of Term Two. Please note students will also need to purchase photography paper of their choice for printing their folio board unless they want to do a digital submission. They will also need a computer that can handle running adobe creative software.

Where does it lead?

To Level 3 Visual Art.
