Making Music – up to 11 credits possible
Music Studies – 6 credits available
Solo performance
Research
Solo second instrument OR
Song writing 3 pieces OR
Compose 3 substantial pieces of music
Ensemble performance
A combination of the above course content must take into consideration individual strengths. Students taking performance credits are expected to be involved in school performances.
University Music; Performance Music; leisure activities; Audio technology; careers in broadcasting, teaching, music therapy, music sales, advertising, sound engineering and journalism.

Grade 4 Theory or equivalent, or success at NCEA Level 2. A minimum four/five years ongoing learning of a musical instrument. An audition may be required at this level. Students must be learning from a teacher, either itinerant or private.
Possible costs include: instrument hire $90; itinerant lessons are free, private lessons at student’s cost. Some expenses for travel.
