Students will learn introductory Spanish for the first term, and introductory French during the second term of this option class. There is an emphasis on learning important vocabulary for the classroom and for life, and on learning to speak and understand the basics of the language, using hands-on activities rather than textbooks or computer programmes.
The course will include learning the alphabet, learning to count, basic greetings, learning the names of common objects, introducing yourself, and learning how to order food.
Students also have the opportunity of an excursion to the Mexican Restaurant Amigo's at the end of the Spanish module, in order to use their Spanish in real life, and will also have a ‘French café’ in class to finish off the French module.
