The Level Two NCEA course is a theory based course that covers thinking critically and taking action on:
Factors that influence people’s ability to manage change.
Enhancing people’s well-being at school or in the community
Gender and sexuality issues in sport
Youth health issues e.g. vaping, alcohol and other drugs, mental health
Evaluate factors that influence people’s ability to manage change (internal, 5 credits)
Take action to enhance an aspect of people’s well-being within the school or wider community (internal, 5 credits)
Analyse issues related to sexuality and gender to develop strategies for addressing the issues (internal, 5 credits)
Analyse an adolescent health issue (external, 5 credits)
Level 3 Health Studies (NCEA).
This course could lead into tertiary study and/or career opportunities including nursing, health promotion, psychology, health policy or information management, or in a role improving the effectiveness of patient treatment, working with Māori communities, wellness facilitators, and leadership roles.

None. There are some elements of this course that require students to self manage their time particularly when it comes to writing assessments and completing school well being projects. Students should have good time management and organisation skills.
