This advanced course is designed for students who have a passion for creativity, innovation, and the practical application of design principles. Building upon the skills and knowledge acquired in previous years, Year 13 DVC focuses on refining design expertise, exploring specialized areas of interest, and preparing students for further study or professional careers in the creative industries.
This course is a continuation of Year 13 DVC. Students will construct their own course centred around contexts and areas of design that interest them. Students can select from architectural design, product design exhibition/presentation design and ideation. Students will explore, review and refine their design ideas that they will communicate using a mixture of sketching and other modelling strategies. A continued emphasis on creativity and divergent design thinking is balanced by the need to think critically about the people, site and wider environmental conditions.
Year 13 DVC provides a solid foundation for entry into further study.
Students who are interested in this pathway often go on to study for careers including, architecture, product design, surveying, drafting, engineering, interior design, industrial design and graphic design.
