One of the yearly tradition at the PL Campus is our Spirit Competition that runs all year long! Throughout the year students have the opportunity to win points as a grade level and at the end of the year, the winning class gets a party. We are so excited to announce our Spirit Points Theme for this year - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
🟠 Freshmen - Orange (Michaelangelo)
🟣 Sophomores - Purple (Donatello)
🔵 Juniors - Blue (Leonardo)
🔴 Seniors - Red (Raphael)
Our first spirit day will be to dress up in class colors on September 30th! Small activities like this are great ways for students to get involved in campus life and make lasting memories. We hope to see your students in orange, purple, blue, and red and to truly determine, once and for all, which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is the best! 🐢💛

Mental rest matters: put your phone down, turn off the news and noise so your mind can breathe.
Disagree Better — not Disagree Less: in a chaotic world, intentionally seek understanding

SENIORS!
On Thursday, we spent WIN time talking about the most important information for Seniors as we head into the year. Here are the slides from that presentation and some additional reminders below!
We are in the process of adding all of the Seniors into a group on the Announcements Course in Gradient, so they can check back there for updates and reminders.
This is the Senior Handbook - it contains tons of information including Graduation, Grad Nite and Senior Events, Caps and Gowns, Senior Photos and Rules and Policies. If students or parents have any questions, they can probably check here first! This is a live document so they can check back later for more details as they become available.
This is "Senior Week" for Caps and Gowns so if they order before next Friday (9/26) they will get the cheapest price. They only have to order the very minimum packet with the cap, gown and tassel. All of the extra items get sent to them directly, but the cap and gown packet gets delivered to us and we distribute in the spring. They may not order on amazon or borrow from a previous year. I will attach the flyer we handed out for caps and gowns.

EDGE, Empowerment and Development for Girls in Engineering, is a year-long program catered to 9-12th graders interested in pursuing an engineering degree. Our mission is to encourage more high school girls to consider STEM-related careers in order to bridge the gender gap in engineering fields. This program will provide opportunities to network with women in engineering and computer science fields at UCSD, as well as provide various workshops and events to foster interest in a wide variety of STEM fields.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open, and students may apply through this form. The application deadline is September 28, 2025, at 11:59 pm.

If your student is going to be absent or tardy, please send an email to plcattendance@classicalacademy.com or call the attendance line at (760) 462-1585 to excuse them. Students who are excused to be tardy will then be issued a tardy pass at the front desk when they arrive.
If your student anticipates being absent from school for more than two weeks, please have them complete the Extended Absence Form and submit the completed form to the front desk at least two weeks prior to their planned absence.
As a California independent study school, we are required to offer optional synchronous (live) instruction opportunities for students. This provides a chance for students to connect with a credentialed teacher in real time for academic support. There is no negative impact for the student if they do not attend.
At CAHS PL, synchronous (live) instruction opportunities are offered through workshop classes, synchronous virtual courses and Monday Office Hours. If you would like more information about times available to your student, please reach out to their teacher directly.
We are required to notify families when students do not take part (lack of attendance) and encourage all students to access the available resources.
Thank you for your continued support.
The CAHS PL Parents & Students Academic Resources document is the most comprehensive resource for information for the 25/26 academic year. For details on schedules, calendars, academic events, course expectations and more, you can refer back to this document throughout the year!
