Alright alright alright I am assuming you guys have read some of these articles and thinking- why is it all about couples?!?! I am here to represent and respect the singles in our community. No more hiding the ones who may not have that special someone! As many people may be familiar with, there are many people that name themselves “Doctor of love” or “Love specialists” or an “Expert in Love” but I am here to inform you that I am, indeed, a Doctor in loneliness. You may be wondering “Olive what education do you have? How are you an expert?” Well excellent question! Even Though I may have some experience in the relationship department, I have never spent Valentine's day with a special someone by my side! I have had 15 years of experience, so I think that may qualify me! Although this may be depressing, it really doesn’t have to be. I am here to tell you how to spend the perfect valentine's day if you don’t have a romantic someone by your side, or if that romantic someone didn’t ask you to be their valentine- run! Anyways…here is my educated opinion on “How to Have a Perfect Lonely Valentines Day”:
6:30 a.m- Wake up bright and early! There's no need to mope around just because you're lonely, and you still got school For the outfit of the day I request adding some pops of red, or maybe a heart in the mix…you're still a part of this holiday (optional)
7:00 a.m- Time for breakfast! Switch it up a bit and make yourself a nice yummy breakfast, maybe with a hint of chocolate in it. If you aren’t that big on breakfast, have some nice yummy red strawberries.
7:55 a.m- School is in session! My biggest piece of advice while you are in school on February 14th is: Do not look for couples- and if you accidentally lock eyes with them then simply just run- this will break the happy streak of you and your valentines will be ruined!
------------------------------School in Session (a.k.a your on your own)---------------------------------
3:00 p.m- Once school is completely over, you want to make yourself busy. Some options may be homework, after school activities, or- my favorite of all time- bake yourself some sweet treats! There is a large realm of yummy treats you can make during this time of the year- just simply search on google or pinterest and you will be set to go!
5:00 pm- Around this time you may want to start considering a movie night. You are welcome to watch these movies with a fellow single, while eating your sweet treat you previously made! Maybe eating some yummy heart shaped ravioli from Trader Joes (this is not sponsored).
If you want to wash up first, before watching a movie, then I suggest a relaxing bath or shower, with some included skincare. This is the time to relax and not think about how most of your friends are probably having a wonderful time with their loved ones!
9:00 p.m- It’s time to wrap the night up with either a nice book, a tv show or movie, or simply clocking out because valentines day can be tiring. But congratulations! You have officially survived valentine's day as being a lonely single person!
I hope this guide to spending valentines day as a lonely person was helpful. Although this may seem excruciatingly painful, or heartbreaking it will get better…trust me I have experience- even if I don’t want to have experience *hint* *hint* to my future boyfriend out there. I hope this helped, and goodnight to the singles out there, I see you too!
