CHHS is very lucky to have a community of young activists who want to see real change in our community. The CHHS Student Activism Club is a place where activists, or even people interested in being more involved with their community, can discuss ideas and plan events that make a positive impact. One example of this would be the clothing swap they planned last fall. The message behind the event was to shop more sustainably for clothes by means of thrifting or buying secondhand clothing.
While that event started last year, the club has also coordinated an annual “Take Back the Night” march through Croton since 2016. The march is aimed at ending sexual, domestic, and relationship violence, and the Student Activism Club is trying to bring these ideas to Croton through this event. Although the march couldn't happen last year due to the pandemic, the club is currently working hard to make the annual event a reality for this year.
