Despite autumn being well underway and the temperature rapidly dropping, people still love going to The Blue Pig for their favorite frozen treat. Croton’s local ice cream shop will be open until the end of December this year, with plenty of new seasonal flavors to try. This month, they have flavors such as Chocolate Mint, Pumpkin Praline, Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter Cookie, Oatmeal Cookie Batter, Sweet Potato with Marshmallow, Brown Sugar Cinnamon, and Black Sticky Rice.
The Blue Pig is also selling autumn-themed beverages, including chai tea made with Oatly and agave, cold or hot apple cider, and pumpkin spice smoothies. There are also delicious homemade baked treats which include banana pumpkin bread pudding, cranberry chia nut bars, and snickerdoodle cookies.
In addition to sweet treats, The Blue Pig also sells lunch specials until 6 o’clock, such as homemade mac and cheese, quiche, chicken soup with either noodles or brown rice, local broccoli soup, thai butternut squash soup, and pumpkin soup. Many of these options, much like their ice cream, are vegan and gluten free.
Note: The Tiger Times is not affiliated with the Blue Pig, nor do we receive anything in return for writing about them. We just like the place.
