With spring in the air, almost every single junior student is breathing a sigh of relief because they finished and submitted their college. While the weeks leading up to the final deadline on March 1st were very stressful, juniors are now free to focus studying for their finals and AP exams - or to just relax and think about the great future that awaits them. They can rest easy, knowing that they passed an important hurdle in the race to achieving a happy and fulfilling life.
Of course, for those requiring financial aid, there was also the FAFSA form, which was required to be submitted on March 25th. Although it seems like a small step, even being a few days late with this crucial step can mean the difference between a successful college career, or having to huddle near a garbage can fire for warmth. With those two important deadlines in the past, juniors are free to enjoy their spring as they anxiously await their college decisions.
While the spring application deadline in junior year may sound unusual, due to the past few years of the pandemic, colleges around the country decided that by pushing up their application deadlines they would be allowing students to enjoy the normalcy and activities of their senior year because the prior years of high school have been ruined. As juniors embark into senior year they will be able to attend sporting events and enjoy more social activities because their college applications will already be completed and submitted.
Although authorities were a little worried that some students might not hear about this, they decided nevertheless to implement strict deadlines to keep the process fair.
Students are expected to receive their decisions between July and August and the National Decision Date will be September 1st. Congratulations to all juniors for getting through this stressful time and good luck as you await your college decisions!
