Before continuing this you can download Bambu Studio however most of the guide will have to take place on the 3D printing computer (named George)
Upon opening you will see this menu in the top left
You will want to select Prepare in the top left next to the green Home Icon
Then go to the Device tab on the 3D printing computer George and make sure you are connected to the printer Bowser
Press the dropdown on the left and select Bowser if you don't see it
In the prepare tab you will want to verify the following settings in the left column are as shown.
Under printer click the drop down and you'll want to go to "Select/Remove printers" or press the printer currently selected and select the "Bambu Lab H2C"
To the right of the printer you will need to select the "Textured PEI Plate," should be a gold plate
Below the Printer settings you will find settings titled "Nozzle", "Project Filament" and "Process"
Under nozzle you will want to select
0.4 nozzle
Standard Flow
Under Filaments you will want to select
Generic PETG (or the filament you are using, usually Generic ___
Under Process
0.20 mm Standard ______ or desired layer height
Then press Sync Info and Continue to sync filaments
This will sync the current fillaments loaded so you see them in the projects filaments tab
It is good to check to make sure that these are what is loaded into the machine, but it's usually accurate
Although it will not know how much filament is left on the spool, so it is good to check the amount of filament is left
Add your files by selecting the +box on the top left or you can drag and drop from your file's location into the software
In this view, you can manipulate the location, orientation, size and more for your part
Tip: You can roate the view by clicking and dragging anywhere (other than the part)
If you wanted to print more than one file, click the +box button on the top left again and add more files
If you want to rotate the piece click on your piece, then on the rotate button (the box with the green arrow over it in the photo above)
If you want to place a specific face of your part on the built plate click on your part, then on the "Lay on face" button (the green box with an arrow pointing down underlined by a white line in the photo abve) then select the highlighted face that you want placed down on the bed
There are plenty of other settings that you can select, but these are typically the main ones you'd want to change or edit
You cant "make one part of the print one color and the other part another" and based off the filaments in the Projects Filaments tab, what is shown will be the possible filaments you can choose from
the way it works is different Objects that are not touching each other can be set to different colors
OR when modeling your file you have different bodies that are then placed on top of one another, but this would have to either be a .3mf or different .stl's that you then change their filament/color and layer on top of one another
To change the filament:
right click on your piece, and at the bottom select change filament and select the desired filament
IMPORTANT: You must determine if your model needs support! If the 3D model has overhangs greater than a ~30-degree angle, then you will need to add supports. (See example)
If you are unsure, check out the Changing Slicer Settings page to learn more. If after that you are still unsure, please ask a staff member.
At the bottom of the left column where you can select different settings for our printer, filaments etc you'll see 4 tabs we can choose from called "Quality", "Strength", "Support" and "Others"
Make sure we select the Support and check the boxes that say "Enable support" and "On build plate only"
In that same area as before if you wanted to change the infill select "Strength" at the bottom of the menu you will see "Sparse infill density" which you can change to your liking but generally it is ok to leave it at 10%-15%, you can check Changing Slicing Settings In 3DPrinterOS to learn about infill and many other settings for the print
In that same area as before if you wanted to add a Brim select Others at the bottom of the menu if the piece needs one, it is usually safe to select a brim and in BambuStudio it has an auto option set by default that can also decide for you, but if you are unsure ask a staff member
Click the Slice Plate button in the top right of the screen
This tab might show up, make sure you are on Filament-saving mode
Your print should look something like this (assuming you chose tree supports)
This pop-up will appear at the top right. This is where the H2C shines. The two extruders can efficiently utilize multiple fillaments to get multi-color/multi-filament
The software auto-chooses the most efficient placements of the filaments, here you want to check with a staff member to ensure that the mapping fits where the spools actually are, please don't touch the AMS systems nor the filament
In that whole window, you can see information like print time and total filament used as well
Then hit print plate!
This window will pop up, and it will be the last chance to ensure that the filaments are placed correctly
The left nozzle typically only chooses 1 filament, and it is good to keep it that way
The right nozzle filaments usually don't matter as much; you just want to check with a staff member that the colors are loaded and have enough filament. IF any filaments are changed around for any reason at this stage, you need to cancel and re-sync filaments, then re-slice
Also, make sure that the settings below are the same, you can activate or deactivate the timelapse as well
When you are all ready, it is good to check with a staff member to ensure everything is set properly
