Example Pricing

Below are examples of prices for posters, 3D Prints, and Stickers. Use this information to gauge how much your projects could cost.

SMALL QUANTITY STICKERS:

On the left is a 2-inch by 2.72-inch sticker, which includes the Cut Contour Outline. If these were copied and printed 15 times on Glossy Calendar Vinyl, they would be free as they are under the 60 mm height limit for daily printing.

LARGE QUANTITY STICKERS:

If you want to print a large number of stickers, then pricing is involved. Take the same-sized sticker from above; if you need 100 copies, based on pricing for Glossy Calendared Vinyl, it would cost you $1.35.

This is calculated by taking the print area height of the sticker sheet (262.9mm) in this example and applying the appropriate material costs per mm.

LARGE FILAMENT PRINT:

Please review the pricing sheet if you want to print more oversized items on the 3D printers. This print on the left is 86.55g. The daily free limit for the makerspace printers is 40g. If a student were to pay for this print, it would cost $2.43. The DCI lab charges $0.02 per gram when printing with Low-Cost Filament.

POSTERS AND BANNERS:

Poster and Banner printing costs vary based on size and choice of paper. On the left, in Adobe Illustrator, is an 18" x 24" vector-based poster. If printed, this 18" x 24" poster using the Paparazzi Paper would cost $2.44  The DCI Lab charges $0.04 for every cm of this material.

When you print large banners, we suggest using Butcher Paper, as it is free for all students. This material is less colorful but may be helpful for larger printouts if students need to be cost-efficient.

RESIN PRINTS:

Resin print costs depend on the specific material used. On the left, in Formlabs Form 3, we provide a tutorial on how to create a Yoda. If printed, this 21.93 ml resin figure would be free, as it's under the 30 ml weekly limit for standard resin.

The DCI Lab charges $0.10/ml for the standard resin that exceeds the 30ml weekly limit and $0.20/ml for engineering resin.
