The Design /Create / Innovate Lab
The Design/Create/Innovate Lab is a makerspace that supports interdisciplinary learning among all Chapman University students, staff, and faculty. This space aims to inspire the next generation of makers as well as provide the tools and resources to innovate, create, and bring ideas to life.
This space provides all Chapman students, staff, and faculty with access to a wide variety of equipment to meet all of their design and fabrication needs. The makerspace is divided into two rooms: the Prototyping Lab, Swenson Hall room N103, and the Manufacturing Lab, Swenson Hall room N102. Additionally, across the hall is the Tech Shop, Swenson Hall room N106 which houses some additional equipment.

The Design/Create/Innovate Lab is located in the Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University (450 N Center St. Orange, CA 92866).
The Prototyping Lab serves as the cleaner and quieter side of the makerspace. It is mainly equipped with different types of additive manufacturing tools (3D printing) as well as equipment for printed circuit board (PCB) prototyping and assembly.
Ultimaker S3/S5 FDM 3D Printers
Makerbot Method FDM 3D printer
Formlabs Form 3 SLA 3D Printers
Markforged X7 FDM Continuous Fiber 3D printer
Formlabs Fuse 1 SLS 3D Printers
Stratasys J850 Polyjet 3D printer
Roland True VIS SG2-300 vinyl printer-cutter
LPKF ProtoLaser R4 laser etcher
LPKF ProtoFlow S4 reflow oven
LPKF ProtoPrint S4 stencil printer
And possibly more!
The Manufacturing Lab serves as the noiser and messier side of the makerspace. It is mainly equipped with different types of subtractive manufacturing from 2D fabrication equipment like laser cutters and a waterjet to 3D subtractive machining like CNC mills.
Universal Laser Systems PLS6.150D laser cutters
Universal Laser Systems VLS6.75 laser cutter
Roland MDX-50 CNC mill
