There are a couple things to be aware of when operating the WAZER waterjet.
Always wear safety glasses while operating or standing within a 10 foot vicinity of the waterjet.
Hearing protection is required when operating the waterjet for long periods of time.
Wear gloves when handling material. Materials may have sharp edges immediately after cutting.
Never leave the waterjet unattended while in operation. You must stay in the room with the machine in your line of sight.
Never attempt to open the door while the waterjet is in operation.
If you need to stop the machine in an emergency, press the big red button.
DO NOT leave the waterjet running unattended.
You must have a staff member check over your job before you start it.
If you want to bring in a new material to cut with, you must get staff approval first.
The WAZER waterjet cutter is similar to the laser cutters because it can do 2D cutting of materials however it cannot do engraving or rastering. Instead of using a laser, the waterjet uses high pressure water mixed with abrasive to cut through materials. It can cut through up to 0.5” aluminum, .125” tool steel, 0.5” glass, and much more!
We sell some material that can be used with the waterjet.

The waterjet is in the manufacturing lab, so you must have already passed the manufacturing lab quiz. You can prepare a file according to the first cut guide, but you must have a staff member check your job before you start the cut. Failure to do so can jeopardize your access to the lab.
