The Mercatale di S. Miniato, the Slow Food Earth Market was born thanks to an alliance among the 'Association of Producers of San Miniato Earth Market, San Miniato Slow Food and the city of San Miniato (which is a Slow city). The Mercatale has among its aims to promote the consumption of local products , to reduce the environmental impact of transport and improve the consumption of seasonal products. In San Miniato, every third Sunday of the month in the morning the Mercatale takes place The market hosts over twenty stalls run by local producers, divided among fruit and vegetables, livestock products, fresh produce and food .
