3.vii. Reflective telephone conversation (re-telling the story in-role)

Mrs Pottle and the teaching assistant (TA) demonstrate a telephone conversation between ‘granny bat’ (Mrs Pottle) and the ‘young bat’ (TA). The discussion involves the young bat telling granny about his day in the cave and how he discovered finding his food through echolocation.

The children are then invited to create their own conversations between granny bat and her younger grandchild (see section 4.vii).
