Illustrating aspects of Creativity with Primary Science Teaching Trust Fellows

There are a series of web pages for each teacher’s lesson that include :

i. Explanatory text regarding the creative approaches;

ii. Annotated video episodes illustrating aspects of creative practice;

iii. Reflective commentary from the teachers;

iv. Excerpts of the childrens’ responses to the tasks and questions, demonstrating their creativity too, and,

v. Secondary pupils’ reflections of the legacy of their creative experience in primary school.

Each of these excerpts from primary science lessons are designed so that you can explore them in two ways :

i. Via the left-hand navigation menu which provides a complete list of all the headings identifying sections each of the seven PSTT award-winning teacher’s lessons that have been videoed to capture illustrations of creativity in primary science;

ii. By using the magnifying glass symbol in the top right-hand corner you can click and enter a search term.

All the material presented on this website has been gathered naturalistically with whole classes of children in real classrooms engaging in authentic learning activities.

All the videos, photographs and quotations found within this website have been gathered with full ethical approval (granted by the Research Ethics Committee at Oxford Brookes University) and agreed by all participants involved.

It is also of note to recognise that these episodes from primary schools were filmed before March 2020 when the Covid-19 safe practices were introduced.
