3.iii. The Big Question: What would life be like without electricity?

In this part of the science lesson Miss Charnock invites the children to think about a 'Big Question'. The video below illustrates how she uses Think, Pair, Share, a strategy for encouraging children to express their views as well as consider others’ perspectives.

Miss Charnock invites the pupils to think about what would be Positive, Minus (negative) and Interesting (PMI) in a world without electricity.

After thinking on their own and talking to a classmate the pupils are invited to share and challenge each others ideas, as a group. You can see how the children respond in the video below.

Miss Charnock recognised how important it is that she acts as a facilitator of science.
