Reporting Discrimination
We offer all participants the tool to report any form of discrimination, conduct, or communication motivated by hatred or prejudice that demeans, degrades, or harasses an individual or group, including race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, genetics, physical or mental disability, or another status.
If you or someone you know experienced an incident of bias, please fill out all possible fields on this form:
You will be contacted within 48 hours to address your concern. Incidents of Bias referrals will be reviewed during business hours (Monday - Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm and Friday from9 am to 2 pm).
Upon receipt of any report alleging a bias incident, the Bias Incident Response Team will convene to review and respond to reported incidents. The Team will meet as soon as practical but no later than one week following the receipt of the report. The Team will assess the report, investigate, and determine the appropriate measures to be taken.
Such measures may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Making a record of the incident
Communicating the incident to the Barcelona community
Pursuing the appropriate action through the student conduct or employment process
Referring the matter to the relevant office for appropriate action
Offering conflict resolution options
Reporting to appropriate internal departments and outside agencies
Providing education and programming
If you believe a person poses an immediate danger to self or others, or there is an imminent threat, call 112 (Spanish emergency phone), or call the emergency cell phone (011 34 675 23 5656 from a US phone, or 675-23-56-56 from a Spanish phone).
OTHER RESOURCES:
The OND is the Oficina per a la No Discriminació (Office for Non discrimination) of the Barcelona City Hall. They offer assistance to anyone that has suffered discrimination and wants to report it. Their hours and how to contact them can be found here.
The SAiD is the Servei d'Atenció i Denúncia per a víctimes de racisme (Service for assisting and reporting for victims of racism). They offer counseling and assistance in reporting crimes or racist offenses.
The OCH is the Observatori contra l'homofobia (Office against homophobia). They offer support and counseling for victims of crimes related to homophobia, and a community center with many resources.
