the sant antoni to-do list

Stroll down Carrer Parlament. This street is ground zero of the hipster movement, with new places opening constantly. You can't go wrong with the bars and restaurants on this street.

Moritz Brewery - One of Barcelona's two largest beer brands, Moritz reopened this old brewery a few years ago. The design alone is worth a visit (make sure you head downstairs to see the bathrooms).

The old El Mercat de Sant Antoni market was renovated in 2017 and looks better than ever. On Sunday mornings they block Calle Urgell with Calle Tamarit for an antique book market.

restaurants

Bar Ramon - Corner of Borrell and Tamari. A busy neighborhood bar that has been a local go-to since 1939. Famous for its classic tapas, Bar Ramón is a place where you can eat very well for cheap. Reservations are recommended, but can only be made by phone or in person.

La Principal - Carrer Sepúlveda, 186. Bar with a great vibe, outside seating and nachos.

Bar Tarranná - Carrer de Viladomat, 23. Friendly staff, delicious food in a hip, cafe-like setting. They offer good coffee, even better cakes and sandwiches, delicious creams and fruit juices.

Bar Calders - Carrer del Parlament. Very popular café with outdoor seating and a nice selection of tapas.

Horchateria Sirvent - Carrer Parlament 56. A Mediterranean drink that dates back to the Middle Ages, horchata de chufa has been served at Horchatería Sirvent since 1920. A chilled, slightly thick blend of leche de chufa (tiger nut milk), water, and sugar, horchata is a refreshing, traditional summer beverage, and Sirvent is the place to sample it.
