Poble Nou

Poble nou

Poblenou is full of surprises. Just a short stroll through its streets quickly reveals striking examples of industrial-architecture-turned-modern works of art. Nowadays, Poblenou is an area full of creativity, with many old factory buildings restored as art galleries, boutiques, and modern loft-style apartments.

about the barrio

During the 1940s, Poblenou offered an excellent location for factories and textile mills. The neighborhood was initially full of shanty towns and homes of poor factory workers. But the 1992 Olympic Games infused new life into Poblenou through the implementation of the 22@ Plan. The project's restoration enhanced the social, urban, and economic profile of the neighborhood, making it an attractive location for residents and visitors alike. Chic restaurants, bars, and all kinds of beach attractions now fill the Poble Nou coastline.
