Font Magica (Magic Fountain)

Barcelona's biggest ornamental fountain, which was built in 1929 for the International Exhibition, offers a spectacular display of music, water acrobatics, and lights.

La Virreina-Centre de la Imatge

A publicly-owned museum that specializes in contemporary art and explores the ideological and aesthetic uses of images.

MUHBA el Call

Associated with the History Museum of Barcelona, it offers interactive displays tracing the Jewish community of medieval Barcelona, housed in a former weaver's home.

Temple Roma D'August

Associated with the History Museum of Barcelona, the Temple of Augustus was a Roman temple built during the Imperial period in the colony of Barcino.

MUHBA Santa Caterina

Associated with the History Museum of Barcelona, the MUHBA Santa Caterina was completed in 2005 and led to major archaeological excavations in the area. On the site of the old market, remains were discovered that date back almost 4000 years (to the Bronze Age). The new market includes a space in which the history of the area is explained.

Born Centre Cultural

Event & cultural space in a restored former market, with excavated city ruins from 1700s on display. Note that the general exhibit is free but there are certain exhibits that require a paid ticket.

The former home of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau has been restored to showcase the work of Catalan architect Lluis Domènech i Montaner.

The Museum of the History of Barcelona is a history museum that conserves, researches, communicates, and exhibits the historical heritage of the city of Barcelona, from its origins in Roman times until the present day.

Museu Picasso

The Museu Picasso houses one of the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. With  more than 4250 works exhibited by the painter, the museum has one of the most complete permanent collections of works.

Note that the Picasso Museum is also typically free on Thursdays after 4pm.

Jardí Bòtanic

The Botanical Garden of Barcelona is located on the Montjuïc hill set amongst a number of stadiums used in the Summer Olympic Games of 1992.

Laberint D'Horta

The Parc del Laberint d'Horta is a historical garden in the Horta-Guinardó district of Barcelona. Located on the former estate of the Desvalls family, next to the Collserola ridge, the park includes an 18th-century neoclassical garden and a 19th-century romantic garden.
