Mpox

Mpox is a rare disease that is caused by infection with the Mpox virus. At the moment, the risk to the general public is low, but you should seek medical care immediately and avoid contact with others if you develop a new, unexplained skin rash (or lesions on any part of the body), whether or not you have fever or chills.

According to the CDC, the majority of confirmed cases are people with multiple sexual partners, as sexual contact has been the predominant cause of infection.

The best way of prevention is using protection while having sexual intercourse.

We recommend you go ASAP to the Delfos Clinic emergency room to receive medical attention. Your insurance will cover this visit. Please, inform the Clinic, via telephone before arriving if possible, that you are concerned about Mpox.

After the initial check-up, the medical professionals will determine the need for isolation until you receive your test result. If you test positive for Mpox, the healthcare provider will advise you to isolate yourself until complete recovery.
