Are you interested in attending the Pep Rally and Homecoming Dance? Tickets for these events will go on sale at the 2 West and 3 West Offices on Friday, October 5 for seniors first and for underclassmen on Tuesday, October 9. Please remember that you must have a valid student ID card to obtain a ticket and attend. Only William Floyd students are permitted to attend these events. Please note that tickets for the Pep Rally are free and are available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets are limited so don’t wait! Tickets for the Homecoming Dance will be $5.00. You can purchase tickets before and after school or during lunch and study hall! Students that play a fall sport do not need tickets for the Pep Rally—the sports sticker on your id is your ticket.
The first meeting of Yearbook Club will be Thursday, October 4 from 2:15 to 3:00 in Room 257. This is an introductory meeting. If you think you’d like to be a part of the memories, stop by Room 136 and see what we’re all about. Ms. Janowicz and Dr. Incantalupo are looking forward to meeting you!
There will be an important informational meeting on Thursday, October 4 at 2:15 in the Wrestling Room for anyone looking to wrestle this year. If you are playing a fall sport and cannot attend please see Coach Bradice in Room 137 or Coach Harris in Room 232.

Attention 10th and 11th grade students: We are extending the deadline to register for the October 13 PSAT, but time is running out. The cost for the exam is only $16.00. However, students in grade 11 with free or reduced lunch can get this cost waived. Checks or money orders should be made payable to the William Floyd School District. Also, please note that all scientific and graphing calculators can be used for the exam. Do not miss out on this opportunity and register today in the High School Main Office.
Attention all Juniors and Seniors: On October 25, during 4th period, Columbia University will be making a presentation in the Counseling Center. If you are interested in attending, please come down to the Counseling Center to sign up.
Attention all Senior Dance Participants: The Senior Dance practices will be held in the West Gym on October 2, 4, 9 and 10 from 6pm-8pm. Attendance will be taken.
Did one of your students, faculty or staff members do something wonderful this past month? Please take a moment to recognize this act by nominating him/her for student of the month or faculty/staff member of the month. We need nominations for students from 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Please submit all forms in blue or black pen only! Just as students deserve to be recognized, teachers and staff do as well. Please take a moment to stop by any Assistant Principal’s Office to pick up a form to nominate a teacher or staff member who has had an impact on you in a positive way. Please drop off all nominations to the 1 West Office.
Attention all members of the William Floyd Gay-Straight Alliance: Mrs. Searing is looking for volunteers to help make rainbow ribbons for National Coming Out Day on October 11. If you wish to volunteer some time, please see Mrs. Searing in the Counseling Center to schedule a time to help.

BHS allows you to enhance your college applications, wear an honor chord at graduation, and be eligible for scholarships all while making lifelong friends! Don’t forget to see Mrs. Cloghessy in Room 152 today to hand in your applications, and pick up an officer application if you haven’t already!

Attention 11th and 12th grade students: The deadline to sign up for the November 3, 2018 SAT at William Floyd High School is fast approaching. Register online at www.collegeboard.org before October 5 to avoid late payment fees.
There will be no extra help on Friday, October 5, therefore there are no 2:10pm buses. As a reminder, there is NO Credit Recovery on Fridays either, so there will be no 3:15 pm buses either.
