Today is an odd day.

Attention Students! You must have a parking permit to park your car in the South Lot. Beginning October 19th security will be checking permits. If you do not have a permit, you will NOT be allowed to park on school property. If you need a permit, go to your AP office as soon as possible! Remember, you must have a Class D license to obtain a permit. 

Attention Seniors:  Class rank and transcripts are now available in the counseling center. If you would like a copy of your unofficial transcript with class rank, please stop by the counseling center during your lunch period, before school, or after school. If you need your counselor to send an official transcript to a college or university, remember to fill out a transcript request form. Be aware of your early decision and early action deadlines.

Attention Seniors:  Need help completing your college applications? Sign up for College Application Week from October 19th through November 2nd during periods 3 through 8. School counselors will be assisting you in completing applications for early and regular deadlines, on-site and more. You can sign up in the Counseling Center or speak to your school counselor for more information. Spots are limited so don’t miss out!

Attention all 12th Graders:  The college application and career planning season is upon us! Your school counselor will be conducting senior conference meetings during the school day through December 4th. During this meeting, your counselor will review your academic record and discuss your college and career goals. Please come to the counseling center to make your appointment.

Do you want to try some candy from Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, or Peru? Come to the Hispanic American Alliance's international candy sale in the rotunda today.

Attention Film Club members:  Our meeting for Tuesday, October 13th has been canceled and rescheduled to October 20th, in room 410. If you have any questions, please see the Advisor.

The free “Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery” (as-vab) for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students are scheduled for October 14th, 9:00am-12:00pm in the LGI. Sign up for the ASVAB can be done with the QR code on the flyer or in the main office ASAP. The test results facilitate career planning, regardless of students’ post-secondary plans. 11th and 12th grade students can use their results to qualify for entrance into the military.

It's TIME to STEP IT UP!!! The first meeting of Step Squad will be on Wednesday, October 14th in the east gym during extra help. Come meet the coach, the team and find out what Step Squad is all about. You will get all the important information about upcoming tryouts! Bring the energy and come ready to step!

There will be an Environmental Science meeting on Thursday, October 15th. All are welcome to come to room 257 after extra help.

The next meeting of the National English Honor Society is on October 15th at 2:15pm in the HS Library. All members are expected to attend. If you are in grades 10-12 and interested in becoming a new member, pick up an application from the chairpersons' office. Applications are due by October 15th. 

If you are interested in technology or robotics, then we have just the thing for you. The Robotics Club is having its new members meeting on October 15th from 2:15pm-3:15pm in room 229. We hope to see a lot of new faces and all the returning members. If you are interested, come by and check it out.

National Honor Society Applications are available in the main office, guidance and online for any 10th-12th grade students who have a GPA of 90 or better and meet other requirements.  Applications are due October 16th.  Please see one of the Advisors in room 142 or room 206 to submit application or for more information.

Attention all CTE Students:  If you plan on joining SkillsUSA for the 2026-27 school year, your self-registration and membership dues must be submitted by the Friday, October 23rd deadline. No exceptions. See the Advisor in room 314 for more information if you missed the interest meeting. 

Attention Students planning to order a 2027 Yearbook. Please purchase your yearbook by Friday, October 23rd if you would like to receive the lowest price of the year and a promotion for free personalization. You can scan the QR code on flyers around the building or go on the high school webpage and click the link to order. Act now before the price goes up and the promotion ends! If you have any questions, please reach out to one of the Advisors in room 260 or 167.  

The next meeting of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) will be on Monday, October 26th in room 102 from 2:15pm-3:15pm. All are welcome to attend!

Attention Seniors:  Legacy Studios will be back in the building on October 28th, 29th and November 2nd for a final photo session. This will be the last opportunity to schedule your senior portrait session at the school and your last opportunity to have your senior photo in the yearbook. Don’t wait – schedule that appointment today online.

Congratulations to the Varsity Tennis team who defeated Patchogue-Medford 7-0 in the 2nd round of the Suffolk County Playoffs. Floyd will be hosting the Individual Tournament on Saturday. All are welcome to watch the team play!
