Today is an even day.



Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive has officially begun! Please bring your non-perishable food items to your 2nd period class (or to the 1 West Office) to help support those in need this Holiday Season. You will not regret it! Any questions please see the 1 West Office. 


There will be no after school credit recovery and no clubs today, Thursday, November 6th, due to Department meetings. There will be 3:15pm buses for the boys basketball informational meeting.


Ms. McNeil's Step Squad is canceled today due to the Department meetings.


Attention all 12th Graders and Early Graduates:  The college application and career planning season is upon us! Now through December 5th, your school counselor will be conducting senior conference meetings during the school day. During this meeting, your counselor will review your academic record and discuss your college and career goals. Please come to the counseling center to make your appointment.


Interested in Bible club? Join us on Mondays in room 169 from 2:15pm-3:15pm. Bring your bible, a notebook and a friend.


Attention All Underclassman:  Today is the last day Life Touch will be in the building to take student portraits of those underclassman who haven’t had their picture taken yet. They will be in the weight room during periods 3 through 8 and during the extra help period. If you do not have gym today during those periods, please go to your AP’s office to get a pass to have your photo taken. This is the last time that the photographers will be in the building. Don’t miss out!


The next Book Club meeting will be Wednesday, November 19th, in room 203. 


All students who applied for the National Honor Society should see an Advisor in room 206 before this Friday.


Attention all boys interested in playing basketball:  There will be an informational meeting today, Thursday, November 6th, in the west gym immediately after extra help. Please make all efforts to attend.


Attention Seniors and Juniors:  Hofstra University will be holding an information session tomorrow, Friday, November 7th. If you are interested in finding out more about Hofstra University, this is the opportunity for you! You can register for this event in the Counseling Center, spots are limited, so don’t wait! 


Our fall play, Puffs, opens this weekend! It is a hilarious and heartwarming story about the underdogs of a certain school of magic. The ones who never quite get the spotlight. Until now! Come laugh, cheer, and feel the magic of this show. Performances are this Friday and Saturday at 6:30pm in the high school auditorium. Tickets can be bought online by scanning the QR code on the posters or at the door. 


Attention all students signed up for the SAT exam:  The exam is this Saturday, November 8th, at 7:30am. Please note drop-off and pick-up location has been changed to the SOUTH entrance near the West Gym. All students must enter in the SOUTH near the West Gym, and arrive at 7:30am sharp with photo ID in hand. Students without photo ID will not be allowed to enter the building to take the exam. Photos must not be covered in any way. Best wishes to all students!


The next meeting of the Gaming Club will be Monday, November 10th, after extra help in the 9A-K cafe. All are welcome to join. See you there!


Attention Seniors and Graduating Juniors:  November 14th is the first On-Site Admissions event. This is your opportunity to apply to colleges early and meet with a college representative at WFHS! If you qualify for admission, you may be accepted on the spot. Please come down to the Counseling Center for specific details and to make an appointment! You don’t want to miss out!


Attention Graduating Students:  The Colonel Josiah Smith Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is offering two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors in select schools in Suffolk County. One scholarship is specifically awarded to the child of an active or former member of the US armed services. The other is open to any senior who perseveres to the best of their ability and has strength of character and drive. These scholarship opportunities can be found on Naviance or you can pick up an application in the Counseling Center. The deadline for both is March 1, 2026.
