Attention Students and Staff:  Our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive has begun. Please bring your non-perishable food items to your 2nd period class now through November 20th to help support those in need this Holiday Season! Any questions, please visit the 1 West Office.

Attention all 12th Graders and Early Graduates:  The college application and career planning season is upon us! Now through December 5th, your school counselor will be conducting senior conference meetings during the school day. During this meeting, your counselor will review your academic record and discuss your college and career goals. Please come to the counseling center to make your appointment.


Interested in Bible club? Join us on Mondays in room 169 from 2:15pm-3:15pm. Bring your bible, a notebook and a friend.


Due to department meetings on Thursday, Debate Club will be meeting today, Tuesday, November 4th, during club time in room 118. Please make every effort to attend.


Attention all Juniors and Seniors:  Interested in purchasing a class ring? A representative from Herff Jones will be in the 11th Grade Café during all lunch periods today and tomorrow, November 4th and 5th, to take your ring order. If you would like more information, ring packets are available in the Assistant Principals’ Offices, the Main Office and Guidance. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to purchase this keepsake reflecting your accomplishments, school spirit and class unity.

Attention all Student Government members:  Our November House of Delegates meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5th, in the Auditorium during extra help. Attendance is mandatory. See you there! 


Attention all Underclassman:  Life Touch will be in the building on Thursday, November 6th, to take portraits of those underclassman who haven’t had their picture taken yet. They will be in the weight room during gym periods three through eight and during the extra help period. If you do not have gym that day during those periods, please go to your AP’s office prior to photo day to get a pass to be scheduled. This will be the last time that the photographers will be in the building. Don’t miss out!


Attention Seniors and Juniors:  Hofstra University will be holding an information session on Friday, November 7th. If you are interested in finding out more about Hofstra University, this is the opportunity for you! You can register for this event in the Counseling Center, spots are limited, so don’t wait! 


Attention all students signed up for the SAT exam:  The exam is this Saturday, November 8th, at 7:30am. All students must enter in the North near the library, and arrive at 7:30am sharp with photo ID in hand. Students without photo ID will be unable to enter the building to take the exam. Photos must not be covered in any way. Best wishes to all students!


Our fall play, Puffs, opens this weekend! It is a hilarious and heartwarming story about the underdogs of a certain school of magic. The ones who never quite get the spotlight. Until now! Come laugh, cheer, and feel the magic of this show. Performances are this Friday and Saturday at 6:30pm in the high school auditorium. Tickets can be bought online by scanning the QR code on the posters or at the door. 


Attention Seniors and Graduating Juniors:  November 14th is the first On-Site Admissions event. This is your opportunity to apply to colleges early and meet with a college representative at WFHS! If you qualify for admission, you may be accepted on the spot. Please come down to the Counseling Center for specific details and to make an appointment! You don’t want to miss out!


Attention Graduating Students:  The Colonel Josiah Smith Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is offering two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors in select schools in Suffolk County. One scholarship is specifically awarded to the child of an active or former member of the US armed services. The other is open to any senior who perseveres to the best of their ability and has strength of character and drive. These scholarship opportunities can be found on Naviance or you can pick up an application in the Counseling Center. The deadline for both is March 1, 2026.


Attention all boys interested in playing basketball:  There will be an informational meeting Thursday, November 6th, in the west gym immediately after extra help. Please make all efforts to attend.
