Pathology is the science that deals with the pathogenesis (mechanism) of the diseases of different organs and system

To understand this mechanism a good Knowledge of other basic sciences must be learnt before like anatomy, physiology, immunology, biochemistry, biology, histology, microbiology and molecular pathology .

So pathology is the link between basic sciences and all clinical branches.The Department of Pathology and Forensic Pathology in the school of medicine includes three different sciences: the histopathology, the hematology and the forensic pathology. These sciences are taught for the third and forth year undergraduate students.· Third year undergraduate students study histopathology and hematology.

· Forth year undergraduate students study forensic pathology.

In addition to undergraduate students, postgraduate Board, Diploma and MSc students related to different specialties study general pathology as a fundamental science for their first year requirements such as general surgery students, gynecology, ENT, orthopedic, ophthalmology, urology maxillofacial and other surgical subspecialties students.
