Tena Koutou Katoa,
We are now on the downhill to the end of the year and Christmas! We have had a lot of celebrations and events going on over the last few weeks, school camps, community sausage sizzle, Manaiakalani Film Festival, Diwali and a lot more action coming our way over the weeks ahead.
Infrastructure Update
Last week we shared some important 2020 infrastructure information with our community, if you missed the communication, click here.
Travelling to School
As the weather warms up, we would like to encourage as many learners as possible to walk, scoot, or cycle to school. Fresh air and exercise before school have been proven to improve learning.
Being active keeps our learners healthy. It reduces the number of cars around the school which means our learners are safer and the environment is cleaner. If you do come to school by car then please click here to view important information regarding parking around Stonefields School.
Build Update
The new building is taking shape very quickly. Click here to view a time-lapse video of the build so far.
Manaiakalani Film Festival
Wow, what an amazing Film Festival! Thank you to everyone involved, especially our learners. We got such fantastic feedback about how respectful Stonefields School was on our trip to Sylvia Park! Well done to all our fabulous presenters who were truly representing our school values of Bringing our Best together and Breaking Ground! Library
Library Stocktake
Please ensure all Stonefields School library books are returned to the library by Friday 6th December.
The library will be closed from Monday 9th December until school finishes for the year.
As we encourage children to self-issue/return their own library books, mistakes do happen. For example, books may not be scanned back into the library correctly, books may be put directly on the shelf rather than being scanned back, library books may have accidentally been returned to the hub library or the public library by mistake, or books may have been issued to the wrong person. Please remind your children to return their library books to the "big red returns box" inside the door of the library by Friday 6th December. If in the next few weeks you receive a reminder notice for a book that you are certain your child has already returned, or they never had on issue, please email anna.malan@stonefields.school.nz or call into the library on a Tuesday or Thursday to talk with Anna.
Note: Preschool Afternoons will still be held in the library until Friday 29th November from 2:00pm -2:45pm
Everyone with under 5's is welcome to join us.
