Communicating Mid Year Achievement and Progress with Parents
We are close to sharing your child’s mid-year achievement snapshot through SchoolTalk. On Monday, 1st of July 2019, you will be sent an email with a link to your child's mid-year achievement snapshot.
For this round of reporting, you can expect to see a general comment from the hub teachers, which will give a description of how your child is progressing, their attitude towards learning, and their social development.
Additionally, you will receive mid-year achievement snapshots of your child's progress across the whole Graduate Learner Profile. Each report shows you how your child is achieving against the New Zealand curriculum expectations of reading, writing and mathematics at the mid-year point (please see example below). If your child is 'Working Within' curriculum expectations at mid-year, it is likely they will meet the curriculum expectations at the end of the year if the same rate of progress continues.
Please note: Previously we have reported against National Standards as required by the Ministry of Education. These expectations remain the same and are aligned to the New Zealand curriculum level expectations.
You will also receive an Achievement Snapshot across the Stonefields School Graduate Profile. Each report shows you how your child is achieving against each of the Stonefields School expectations in the soft learning areas at the mid-year point. Here you can see an example below of a mid-year achievement snapshot in Building Learning Capacity.
