Dance Initiative at Stonefields School
We are so thrilled that Santarelli School of Dance Ltd is able to facilitate the Dance Initiative here at School. We are halfway through the programme for this Term, and we have seen the overwhelming joy in our learners. There has been strong evidence to support the conclusion that physical activity has a positive influence on memory and concentration - all of which results in a better learning environment.
"We have seen learners appear to be in the learning pit, as they are exposed to something that they may not have done before, or to new styles of dance - but with the skills that they have learnt at Stonefields, they are able to rise to the challenge which has been a wonderful thing to witness. Our facilitators Jeri Lomas, Jeneen VanBystervelt and myself Jess Walker, all agree the learners really do have fun and enjoy their time dancing, interacting with and respecting others. We look forward to performing this body of work at the end of the Term"

Eastern Zones Basketball - Boys
Well done to the Stonefields Boy's Basketball team on a great first outing as a team, playing with determination and grit. The team ended up winning two games and losing one in the pool round, which meant we came second on our table. We made it to the next round narrowly losing in overtime. Well done to the team!

Eastern Zones Basketball - Girls
Well done to our girl's team who took part in the EZ Basketball Tournament for the first time this year. Our girls may have been new to basketball but they learnt from each game, improving their performance each time. Lots of fast breaks and plenty of baskets saw us progress to the play-off round. Stonefields finished 6th overall after a tough playoff game against Stanhope School, a fantastic achievement!
Both teams would like to say a huge thank you to Peter for his expert coaching.
