Stonefields School Athletics
We have loved seeing so many determined performances at our athletics days over the last couple of weeks. Athletics is all about achieving your Personal Best and we have been so proud to see our learners continually striving for that with their next race, jump or throw. The fist pumps, cheers and smiles on faces when goals have been achieved are the culmination of all of the effort our learners have put into building their knowledge of athletics this term in PE. We are extremely proud of each and every learner for Being their Best Self and Bringing their Best Together as they competed and encouraged their team.

We would like to thank all of our whānau who have come down to help set up, support and provide such a wonderful atmosphere for our learners. We welcome and would appreciate any feedback on our new athletics format so that we can continue to improve the experiences we provide for our learners in the future. Please direct this to lynnk@stonefields.school.nz
Eastern Zones Athletics
A huge well done to all of our Yr 7 and 8 learners who represented Stonefields at the Eastern Zones Athletics Competition. Our team performed brilliantly against top-quality competition achieving some personal bests and setting up some very exciting and nail-biting finishes.
A special congratulations to the following learners who placed in the top 3 for events and qualified for the Auckland Champs:
- Adaquix-Jeremiah: 2nd place - Yr 7 Boys Long Jump, 3rd place - Yr 7 Boys 200m
- Ana: 1st place - Yr 7 Girls Discus, 2nd place - Yr 7 Girls Shot Put
- Jade: 3rd place - Yr 7 Girls 200m
- Natasha: 3rd place - Yr 8 Girls Shot Put
Tamaki Athletics
Yesterday 80 of our learners from Year 3 - 8, including Hub 4, took part in the Tamaki Athletics Competition at Lloyd Elsmore. From the first event until the very last event of the day, our team were encouraging each other as they chased personal bests and top 3 finishes in their events. It was a very successful day for the Stonefields team and we are really proud of the determination our learners showed in their performances. We are still waiting for the final results from the organisers. Once we receive these we will publish them on our Sports Website here

Congratulations to Megan for being selected for the Eastern District U13 Cricket team. Kai Pai Megan!!!
Library Stocktake
Please help us get all our school library books back by next Friday, 6th December, so our annual stocktake may begin.
The library will be closed from Monday 9th December until school finishes for the year.

As we encourage children to self-issue/return their own library books, mistakes do happen. For example, books may not be scanned back into the library correctly, books may be put directly on the shelf rather than being scanned back, library books may have accidentally been returned to the hub library or the public library by mistake, or books may have been issued to the wrong person. Please remind your children to return their library books to the "big red returns box" inside the door of the library by Friday 6th December. If in the next few weeks you receive a reminder notice for a book that you are certain your child has already returned, or they never had on issue, please email anna.malan@stonefields.school.nz or call into the library on a Tuesday or Thursday to talk with Anna.

As the weather warms up, we would like to encourage as many learners as possible to walk, scoot, or cycle to school. Fresh air and exercise before school have been proven to improve learning.
Being active keeps our learners healthy. It reduces the number of cars around the school which means our learners are safer and the environment is cleaner. If you do come to school by car then please click here to view important information regarding parking around Stonefields School.
