We are now ready to share your child’s mid-year achievement snapshot through SchoolTalk. On Monday, 1st of July 2019, you will be sent an email with a link to your child's mid-year achievement snapshot.
For this round of reporting, you can expect to see a general comment from the Hub teachers, which will give a description of how your child is progressing, their attitude towards learning, and their social development.
How to read your child’s mid-year achievement snapshot?
Reading, Writing and Mathematics Reporting
Each report shows you how your child is achieving against each of the New Zealand curriculum areas of reading, writing and mathematics, at the mid-year point. If your child is 'Working Within' curriculum expectations at mid-year, it is likely they will meet the curriculum expectations at the end of the year if the same rate of progress continues.
Please Note - Previously we have reported against National Standards as required by the Ministry of Education. These expectations remain the same and are aligned to the New Zealand curriculum level expectations.
The bar at the top of each snapshot shows you how your child is tracking overall against the New Zealand Curriculum Levels.
Please Note - If your child is working in the appropriate curriculum level, their Overall Teacher Judgement (the top blue bar underneath the graph) will be sitting at least halfway between ‘Working Towards’ and ‘Working Within’, or between ‘Working Within’ and ‘Working Above’.
The bars underneath the Overall Teacher Judgement further break down achievement in each area of the curriculum areas.
Next Steps
Your child’s next steps for learning are detailed in the right-hand column of the snapshot. Up to 5 next steps are highlighted for each curriculum area. If viewing your child's snapshot on a mobile or smaller device the next steps will display under the achievement bars.
Graduate Profile Reporting
The spider and bar charts show you how your child is progressing in each of the Stonefields School curriculum areas. The key beneath the charts indicates whether your child is working towards, working within, or working above the Stonefields School expectations.

If you have concerns or questions regarding your child’s mid-year achievement report please talk to one of the Hub teachers.
The thick blue bar sits just next to 'Working Within', what does this mean?
This indicates that your child is on track to achieving the New Zealand curriculum level for their age at the end year if a good rate of progress continues.
The thick blue bar sits between 'Working Towards' and 'Working Within', what does this mean?
This indicates that your child continues to work towards meeting the New Zealand curriculum level for their age. Acceleration of progress is required in order for the curriculum level to be met by the end of the year.
The thick blue bar sits between 'Working Within' and 'Working Above', what does this mean?
This indicates that your child is a strong ‘At’ and is more likely to achieve the end of year curriculum level expectation.
