Welcome Back, Naumai Haere Mai
Tēnā Koutou Katoa,
Welcome to the start of Term 3 of the 2019 school year.
A warm welcome to all our new families and members of staff. We hope you had a lovely holiday and were able to enjoy the time off with family and friends despite the damp, wet and windy days!
The start of term Pōwhiri held on Monday was a wonderful and empowering way to commence the new term.
We are always very grateful for the support and hospitality that Kaumatua Tautoko, or Papa Big as he is known to us, gives through this rich, cultural welcome celebration and blessing.
SchoolTalk Update
Merging of Progressions
Recently on SchoolTalk, you may have noticed a change to the organisation and layout of your child’s progressions in reading, writing, and numeracy.
The review and refining of our progressions is part of our larger strategic goal to reflect and reconsider what learning is critical to learn and know to benefit our learners.
The new format has been as follows:
Thank you!
We would like to express our thanks to The Ōrākei Local Board who kindly awarded a $500 grant towards the costs of our recent Matariki Kapa Haka Festival Day.
We have taken careful steps with the developers to ensure none of your child’s uploaded evidence or the available resources have been lost.
If you notice anything unusual about your child’s progressions, please contact Emily via email.

Senior Cross Country
Well done to all of our learners who took part in the Yr 4 - 8 Cross Country. It was great to see both determination and big smiles as our learners put into practice everything they have been learning about Cross Country. We have begun to analyse the student voice data gathered before and after Cross Country and are very excited to see a huge shift in engagement and enjoyment this year. Important themes emerging include having agency and feeling successful, both of which are crucial as we strive to build the desire, and capacity, in all of our learners to continually challenge themselves and recognise their potential.
We would like to express a huge thank you to all of our whānau who helped on the day and came along to support creating such a fantastic atmosphere for our athletes.
